The first two of six regional closed qualifiers for The International 2024 , which took place from June 9 to 13 in North America and China , have concluded. Two slots were played in the China region, while only one slot was available in North America.

Three Chinese teams will compete at The International 2024

Team Zero won their place first, being far from the strongest team in China. The team managed to beat Azure Ray in the top bracket final with a score of 2:1.

Azure Ray himself failed to take advantage of his chance to make it to the World Cup. After falling into the lower bracket, they were faced with G2.IG , who were considered favorites to qualify and were able to beat their opponents with a score of 2:1. It is interesting that G2.IG ended up in the lower grid precisely because of the dark horse Team Zero.

Thus, G2.IG became the third Chinese team to participate in The International 2024, with Xtreme Gaming receiving a direct invite. In bad news, LGD Gaming were eliminated at the quarter-final stage of the lower bracket and thus miss the main event of the year for the first time since 2012, because at the first TI in Germany, they did not participate.

The Nouns are the only North American team at The International 2024

Only one team from the North American region will be represented in the main tournament, as no one has received direct invitations. Nouns became the champion of the closed qualification.

Shopify Rebellion were able to beat Nouns in the top bracket finals and looked set to make it to TI. However, as in the case of qualifying for Riyadh Masters 2024, in the deciding match for the slot, Nouns proved to be much stronger and beat Shopify Rebellion 3-0.

For Artur " Arteezy " Babaev, this means that for the first time in 9 years, he will miss the main event of the competitive Dota 2 season. However, for Nouns captain Tal " Fly " Isaac, this is a personal best, as he will visit The International for the 11th time, which before only the legendary Klement " Puppey " Ivanov succeeded.

We remind you that The International 2024 will take place from September 4 to 15 in Copenhagen, Denmark. 16 teams will participate in the tournament, and the size of the prize fund will be announced later.
