More about the team OG
OG is a professional Dota 2 team from Europe. The team was founded in August 2015 and has become one of the most recognizable and successful teams in the world of Dota 2. It consists of talented players and strives to achieve outstanding results on the world stage.
The composition of the OG team changes often according to the requirements of the goal and the needs of the team. However, despite frequent changes, OG remains a strong and cohesive team. Founders: Jakob "N0tail" Sandstein and Tal "Fly" Isaaksen, played an important role in building the team and maintaining its success.
The story of OG began in 2015, when a team called (monkey) Business was formed. They became known for their aggressive style of play and unconventional strategies. In the same year, (monkey) Business won The Frankfurt Major 2015, one of the biggest tournaments in the world of Dota 2. This was the beginning of OG's path to success.
In early 2016, (monkey) Business announced a rebrand to OG, marking the beginning of a new era for the team. This year they won The Manila Major and The Boston Major, establishing themselves as one of the strongest teams in the world.
In 2017, the team experienced some difficulties, but despite this, the team continued to show good results. In 2018, they returned to their usual aggressive style by winning The International 2018, where they managed to earn over $11 million in prize money.
In the years that followed, OG underwent various roster changes, but the team maintained its status as one of the world's top players in Dota 2. In 2019, OG won The International again, making them the first team to win the tournament twice in a row.
The organization can boast of a significant list of achievements:
Victory at the Frankfurt Major 2015
Winning The Manila Major 2016
Victory at The Boston Major 2016.
Victory at The International 2018.
Victory at The International 2019.
These titles make OG one of the most successful teams in the history of Dota 2. Their ability to adapt to a changing environment and display a unique play style makes them truly unique among the rest.
The secret of the team's success lies not only in teamwork, but also in the close relationship between the players. OG players often share their experiences and stories on social media and streams, allowing fans to feel closer to their idols.
You can follow OG news and stats on their official social media pages like Twitter and Instagram. There they post photos from training sessions, videos of team meetings and much more. This allows fans to learn more about the daily life of the team and its players.
Team OG is a shining example of how collective spirit, talent and perseverance can lead to great success in the world of eSports. Their history, achievements and player relationships make them one of the most popular and respected teams in the world of Dota 2. It's no wonder that OG is an inspiration to many fans who dream of making it in the world of eSports.
OG Esports is a European team that is considered a true legend in the world of eSports. Still! In total, OG has five majors and two victories at The International - a success that only the Spirit team has managed to repeat so far. OG also has a division that participates in CS:GO competitions.
The OG team was formed in 2015, and the basis of its composition was former players (monkey) Business - Tal "Fly" Izik and Johan "n0tail" Sundstein , who met during the Heroes of Newerth competition, after which they joined Fnatic , which participated in Dota 2 competitions. During 9 years of cooperation, Fly and N0tail have participated in more than 1,500 competitions, which is a record for such duos in the Dota 2 universe. Three young players with good potential also joined OG: Cr1t- , Miracle- and MoonMeander .
When the team was created, its members made a promise: not to accept the offers of "bounty hunters" in the eSports world and not to leave the team. However, in 2018, without informing his colleagues, Fly left OG and joined Evil Geniuses , one of the strongest clubs in North America, together with s4 .
A string of wins in 2015 and 2016 (including a first place finish and a million dollar win at The Frankfurt Major 2015) saw the team challenge for the lead at The International 2016, but success turned away from the boys during the major championship. The loss was the reason for several substitutions, which turned out to be more than successful, securing victory at two majors at once: in Boston in 2016, and then in 2017 in Kyiv.
The biggest victories awaited the team in 2018 and 2019, when the boys literally managed to "wrest" first place in The International championships. The team came to participate in the main competition of the year as a result of a successful game in the closed qualifiers: OG came to the play-off without a single defeat. Next, a fierce battle awaited the team: in order to win the final battle of 2018, the boys had to play 5 games with the main rival - PSG.LGD . In 2019, OG managed to repeat their stunning success, winning in the semi-finals against PSG.LGD and in the final against Team Liquid .
In the 2019/2020 season, the team suffered some big defeats, although their results in the group competitions were quite good. The team's return to the top rankings came later: OG players managed to win 3rd place in the finals of Dota Pro Circuit 2021/2022, as well as first places at ESL One Stockholm Dota Major 2022 and ESL One Malaysia 2022 .
OG Esports: Team Secrets
The secret of the team's success is its mixed composition, which includes experienced players with a creative approach to work on the map: since 2021, the Ukrainian Artem Golubev has been playing in the carry position in OG, and the hardliner is the Russian Dmytro Dorokhin, who joined the team in December 2022. At the same time, the team is quite "young", the average age of its players is only 22 years.
Team strategy
The team is known for several innovative solutions in the world of eSports. It was the guys from OG who were the first in history to try (and very successfully) radically change the strategy in the middle of the game, when the opponent least expected it. Also, all team members prepare to act universally, rather than playing a single role throughout the game. Such flexibility helps athletes quickly adapt to different game situations.
Another innovation applied by OG Dota 2 and widely discussed by insiders was training in the field of analytics and psychological coaching for team members.
OG clearly hasn't had its last say in eSports. In 2023, the roster could not boast of high performance (44% of victories against the team average of 52%). However, personnel reshuffles and systematic training carried out in 2022-2023 open up excellent prospects for OG eSportsmen not only at regional tournaments, but also at international events.
