BetBoom Team - Russia — Dota 2 team

The history of the BETBOOM eSports team began on April 18, 2022, when a bookmaker with a similar name, operating in the Russian market since 2010, decided to operate in the e-sport market as well. Initially, the team included players who received the status of free agents after the dissolution of Winstrike , another team from the Russian Federation, founded in 2018.

Akbar "SoNNeikO" Butayev , a participant in eSports competitions of various levels since 2014, played as the captain of the team, and Nikita "Daxak" Kuzmin - a true legend of eSports, well known to fans not only as a player, but also as a streamer - was given the status of carry. Also, the initial composition of BB included:

• mider Denys "Larl" Sigitov (in the world of eSports from 2021);

• offline player Yevhenii "Noticed" Ignatenko , who has been participating in eSports competitions since 2019;

• supporter Volodymyr "RodjER" Nikhosyan , who entered the world of eSports back in 2013 as part of Cleave Gaming.

The International 2022: with the hope of victory

In 2022, the team managed to win a series of qualifying tournaments for The International 2022 , as well as win the Eastern European qualifier and reach the final qualifying tournament series, where the results of the roster are also worth the highest praise.

However, the performance at the main tournament of the year was not successful and it was not possible to reach the dream play-off line-up. The result was a complete change in the composition of the team in November 2022, including its coach.

2023: between despair and hope

The updated composition of BB, which began to participate in the competition in 2023, included Yegor "Nightfall" Grigorenko in the position of carry, Danylo "gpk~" Skutin in the position of mider, supports Alexander "TORONTOKYO" Khertak and Vitaly "Save" Melnyk , as well as Ivan "Pure~" Moskalenko , who played in the offliner position. Each of these players has a wealth of experience and an original style of play, but the most interesting member of the team is TORONTOKYTO, to whom another eSports legend, Team Spirit, owes part of his victory in The International 10.

Despite a rather powerful lineup, the roster failed to successfully start the 2023 competition. According to the results of The Lima Major 2023, the boys could only get 2nd place in Group B, and atESL One Berlin Major 2023 - 7th place, as a result of which they were eliminated from those competitions.

However, already during DreamLeague Season 20, Betboom managed to reach the finals, although the team did not win at that time (it took 2nd place). Participation in Bali Major 2023 and Riyadh Masters 2023 was also not successful, and participation in The International 2023 turned out to be a failure for the team - the reason was due to personal mistakes of the participants, which is a problem that the coach and management of BETBOOM have been trying to fight since its inception.

Thus, the following performances of the players were the most successful:

• 2nd place at DreamLeague Season 20 (reward – $175,000);

• 3rd place at DreamLeague Season 21 (reward – $120,000);

• 5th-6th place at Riyadh Masters 2023 (reward - $800,000).

Performance

The roster shows pretty good statistics. The number of victories won by eSportsmen from BB is at the level of the best world teams and is 56% (for the entire history of existence). Only in 2023, the boys took part in 105 matches, of which they won 57%.

BetBoom Team is one of those teams whose development should definitely be followed by fans of eSports games. The guys try to use interesting strategies and are not afraid of active actions on the map. Although their results can hardly be called stable at the moment, this young Eastern European team already has some really big wins under its belt. So, you can expect that other competitions involving the roster will be really exciting, and their results - unpredictable.
