Talon Esports - Philippines — Dota 2 team

Talon eSports is an Asian eSports organization based in Hong Kong. The first roster from the Dota2 discipline was presented to the target audience in 2021. The team is actively developing, which is reflected in the number of prizes earned at tournaments. So far, the team has earned approximately $2.2 million.

History of creation

The organization itself was created in 2017, but from the very beginning was not represented by a Dota2 team. The first lineup in this MMORPG was introduced on November 16, 2021.

It included the following players:

• Gabbi

• Mikoto;

• kpii;

• Hyde;

• Fly.

In just two weeks, players receive an XLR8 trainer. In this composition, the first tournaments were quite unsuccessful for the team. As a result, the organization decides to abandon Gabbi and Fly services.

The new roster begins to form in February 22. Talon eSports signs Q and 23savage. Over the entire time, more than 10 players managed to play in the team. A small team and a Ukrainian footprint, namely coach ALWAYSWANNAFLY. However, he stayed in the structure of the organization for only two months (from October to December 2022).

As for the team's performances, it was represented both at the International 2022 and at the last one, at the moment International 2023. However, Talon eSports showed far from the best results at these tournaments. In 2023, she shared 9th-12th place, and at the last tournament her results were even worse (17th-18th place).

Results at tier-2 tournaments were much better for the team. For example, the Asian team was able to win two decisive matches in the framework of DPC SEA 2023 tour 2: Division 1 and BTS Pro Series Season 14 in Southeast Asia.

However, it is interesting that the most successful tournaments for the team were not mentioned above, but Riyadh Masters 2023. The Arab world has long been associated with big money in the target audience. Therefore, Talon eSports was able to earn 1700000 USD for the third place. In the match to reach the finals, the team lost to Liquid on two maps. These prizes are almost 20 times more than the second most in team history. The team earned 85,000 USD on Dream League Season 20.

Actual composition

As of October 2023, Talon eSports includes the following players:

• 23savage (Thailand, in the team since February 2022).

• Mikoto (Indonesia, November 2021).

• Jabz (Thailand, November 2021).

• Q (Thailand, February 2022).

• Oli (Malaysia, November 2022).

Only Mikoto and Jabz remained from the first team. The organization carries out quite effective management. If one of the players is down during the game, the managers are looking for a replacement for him almost instantly. As a result, it brings a good result, as evidenced by the 2023 tournaments.

Logotype

Talon eSports has a unique logo design that is almost unmatched in the eSports arena. The logo features four classic letters (T, L, O, N) in bold and strict font. Black color adds seriousness to the image.

The main emphasis of the author was on the stylized letter "A". It looks quite interesting, and is associated in the target audience with a bird whose head is turned to the left. This element is made in dark red color. Also, it is conditionally divided into several elements. Thus, the team knows how to engage the target audience, because the Talon eSports logo plays an important role in the team's development strategy.

Prizes

As mentioned above, the Dota2 discipline team was created relatively recently, and therefore it cannot boast of such prizes as the conditional Liquid. However, quite good results in tier-1 and tier-2 tournaments have already brought the organization more than 2 million dollars.
